Hopefully they value films with artistic merit (Barbie, Oppenheimer) that got money, but from the quote I’m assuming this is the award the studios paid for to get for their top earning schlock awards discussion and a scheme to get those who otherwise wouldn’t watch to tune in. Super Mario Bros. and Guardians 3 don’t need participation trophies from the industry.
