BIFA 2021 Nominees – ‘Belfast’, ‘Boiling Point’ Lead List of Contenders

The nominees for the 2021 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) were announced on Thursday 4th November 2021 ahead of the organisation’s 5th December 2021 awards ceremony.

Among the nominees for the awards celebrating the best in British independent cinema were stalwarts of the UK film industry such as Kenneth Branagh, Jude Law and Ruth Wilson, with 2021 Oscar nominee Riz Ahmed also nominated.

Heading the list of awards nominees was Philip Barantini’s one-shot drama Boiling Point starring Stephen Graham and Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast, each with 11 nominations. Prano Bailey-Bond’s debut horror Censor, Aleem Khan’s After Love and Joanna Hogg’s much-anticipated sequel The Souvenir: Part II earned 9 nominations each.
